Brief Account of the Department:          The Department of Assamese of Charaibahi College was established on the16th, August 1990. Gauhati University has permitted to open Major course in Assamese in T.D.C 1st year class from the session 1999-2000. At the time of its establishment Late Bipin Chandra Nath, Renu Modoi, were the permanent faculty members, and late Golok Chandra Deka, Sri Padma kanta Nath and Md. Hasmat Ali were guest lecturers. Late Bipin Chandra Nath was the first Head of the department. At present, four faculty members have been working in the department.
